TERM PROJECT DUE WEDNESDAY 16TH JUNE 2010
STANDARD FOUR PROJECT
Structure of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago
You will be required to conduct a Mock Parliament in class on WEDNESDAY 16TH June 2010
All pupilswill be divided into two groups reflecting the government and the opposition. You will perform the following:
1) SWEAR IN A PRIME MINISTER and MINISTERS OF CABINET. ( before parliament convenes)
2) ELECT A SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
3) DEBATE THE TOPIC:-The Abolition of Corporal Punishment in Schools
You will be marked as a group for your level of preparation and participation in the mock parliament as well as for your individual submission of the second part of the project outlined below.
A folder with information compiled on each of the following:
1) The new Prime Minister , the Cabinet Ministers and their portfolios ( include pictures, newspaper, clippings, manifesto etc)
2) Your speech to be read out in the Parliament during the debate ( to be done in your own handwriting)
3) Draw a diagram and included notes on the three arms of government.
(The legislative, Executive and the Judiciary)
